Hemorrhoid Treatment with Band Ligation
Hemorrhoid patients usually consult a physician with complaints of bleeding during bowel movements. Patients are evaluated with a detailed physical examination and, if necessary, with rectoscopy or colonoscopy. Band ligation is an effective treatment method for Stage 1 and 2 hemorrhoids, which mostly manifest themselves with bleeding and do not cause permanent swelling on the outside. It can be performed in outpatient settings and does not require general anesthesia. It is performed by applying a 1-2 mm band to the hemorrhoid base, which is placed in a special device with negative pressure. This is why the term "strangulation" is used among the public. In some cases, this treatment can be combined with sclerotherapy treatment.
